HAM Radio Licensing Classes - Published: Monday, March 01, 2010

In partnership with the Ak-Sar-Ben Amateur Radio Club, Heartland REACT is happy to announce a four-part week-night classes for the Technician Class license.  

 

  • Who: Any member of Heartland REACT wishing to get their Amateur Radio Technician Class License
  • When:  March 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, 6:30PM to 9:00PM
  • Where: NP Dodge Real Estate, 16909 Lakeside Hills, Suite 119 (Next to Olive Garden on 168th and Center) - Location subject to change for the last two classes, so check back for updates
  • Cost:  Cost of the class is free, use of the books are free or the book can be purchased for $25, Testing is $15 per attempt
  • How to Register:  Contact your Lieutenant or Sergeant

 

The regularly scheduled VE Testing Session will be held March 30th at the American Red Cross 2912 S 80th Ave at 6:30PM.  More information about testing can be found at the Aksarben ARC website under Licensing.

Communications Teams

 

 

When Seconds Count.... In an emergency, reliable communications may make the difference between life or death.

REACT is a volunteer public service organization comprised of private radio operators who serve communities with emergency radio communications.

REACT Teams use Amateur, GMRS and other radios. They strive to promote the proper use of radio frequencies.

REACT Teams work closely with Emergency, Police, Fire and other agencies. They also help at public events such as holiday parades, bike rides, and walk-a-thons among other events.

 

 

MISSION STATEMENT:
We will provide public service communications to individuals, organizations, and government agencies to save lives, prevent injuries, and give assistance wherever and whenever needed.

We will strive to establish a monitoring network of trained volunteer citizen-based communicators using any and all available means to deliver the message.
